Viceroy Lodge – Shimla

Viceregal Lodge is a brilliant piece of Elizabethan style of architecture. Popularly known as the British Viceroy's residence. The Elizabethan style structure was built in the year 1880... The expenses on the construction of this regal lodge were around 36 Lakh Rupees.. Amazing engineering work • Security arrangements and top notch gadgetry was installed in the Lodge - a fire alarm in case of fire was put in place way back in the late 17th Century • All electric wires are inside the walls.. (1880 was the year.. they knew the future) • The interiors are made of wood imported from Burma. The wooden structure has stood the test of time. Even after so many years past it's construction, Viceregal Lodge is immune to decay caused by water and insects The table where India – Pakistan divided on papers The historic significance of the building is unique. For instance, the table inside the conference room of the lodge bears testimony to the meeting held between Nehru, Jinnah and Mountbat
